Identity
Exploring the theme of identity I created a series of posters with quotes from my friends after I interviewed them, asking a series of personal question such as ‘would you rather do something and regret it or not do it at all?’ and ‘is the process of identity creative or destructive?’. With the slogan, ‘Show your true colours, Show your true Identity’ asking people to be themselves, despite societies push for everyone to have certain looks, beliefs and personalities.
Identity
Following the idea of identity I created a series of around 50 marble painting exploring different colours and to show different emotions and personalities for my project. To be used as backgrounds for my poster and book pages.
 Identity
Inspired by influential American film photographers such as Nan Goldin and Casa Susanna, who blur the lines between male and female identity by photographing drag Queens and cross-dressers through the 1960s and 1980s in a dismissal of societies standards of beauty, sexuality, and gender roles. My aim was to explore how people present themselves to others; naturally in their own environments and alongside planned portrait photographs by combining my own photographs with my friends photographs of others. Juxtaposing composed portraits alongside candid photography to expose the qualities, beliefs and personality which we try to hide from others. I have displayed my findings in my Digital Sketchbook alongside film photographs created in Adobe InDesign.
Identity
The final piece for my project was a short book on Identity including my photographs and initial marbling scans which was printed using a Risograph printer to give the pages a luminous glow. Including the interviews with friends exploring their individual beliefs and personalities as well as how they present themselves to others.
